Most people would be inclined to call this a "photo blog", or a "phlog".
I'm not most people.
Kiri and I set off for our first holiday together, to the sunny land of Bulgaria; Nessebar, near Sunny Beach on the Black Sea coast. We had a cracking two weeks there, staying at Hotel Hawaii, lazing around on the beach and slagging off peoples' inability to do karaoke.
Oh, and we ate lots of kebabs.
Summer 2007, and still not a blue sky in sight. Still, Jarvis, Claire and I ventured to Castle Fraser near Kemnay to spend some time looking at big old steam engines and other vintage machinery. It was a grand day out!
And so 2006 came to a close, and 2007 came to an open. This is the tale of an unlikely group of friends as they-- wait, what? It's new years, it's all banter! Just go and look at the photos.
I used to live in Australia. Fact. My family was good friends with these guys, the Urquharts, who were also from Scotland. Anyways, this is the tale of when they came back over for a while, and invited us down to some place near Glasgow for a reunion party of sorts. So we went down, saw them for the first time in ten years, and had a great time! I also took lots of pictures.
Miss Claire Ruth Harkins found herself down in Edinburgh Zoo to work on her university honours project in the summer with African Wild Dogs. Being excellent friends of hers, we went down to visit her for a weekend. So Mark, Jarvis, Aimy and myself ventured down 'pon a train, and got up to all sorts of shenanigans. Well, lay in Prince's Street Gardens anyway.
Sarah: "Want to go and see Marmaduke Duke in London?"
Me: "Er..."
Sarah: "I've got you a ticket, so you have to come now."
And it was done. This was my first time to London as well, so pretty interesting stuff!
"You crazy bastard(s).
The Duke loves it.
Love,
The Duke, x"
